I’ve always been one for saving money, but the importance of saving (and earning) money on my purchases has increased due to the pandemic and inflation in general. Over the last year or two, I stopped using apps to save money, but I’ve started using them again recently and it’s going well! I am only recommending the apps or websites that I actively use to earn money. Information accurate as of March 5th, 2022. Disclaimer: The article contains some referral links. If you make a purchase, I may receive a small reward at no extra cost to you. Referral links will be clearly noted and will explain the benefit available, should you decide to use it. Any money made goes back into this blog so I can keep the content free. Thank you for reading! 1. Honey (referral link – we both get $5 when you make your first purchase) Honey is a free website with a browser extension and a mobile app so you can save and earn money while shopping from your preferred device. Points are called “Gold.” Honey is owned by PayPal, so you have several options for cashing out your earnings, including gift cards and PayPal! Honey is my favorite shopping tool because it’s easy to earn, save, and cash out. How Honey helps:
For PayPal Balance/Cash, you can cash out with any amount! You’ll need at least $10 (1000 gold) to redeem for a gift card or PayPal Shopping Credit. Look at my past redemptions: Interested in using Honey? If you use my referral link, we both get 500 points ($5) after your first shopping trip – and there’s no minimum purchase requirement. 2. Rakuten (formerly eBates) – join with my referral link and spend $30 by March 31st, 2022. Afterward, we both receive $30! Like Honey, Rakuten offers both a browser extension and a mobile app. When you shop after activating Rakuten, you receive a percentage of cash back on your purchase. You can even get cash back from shopping in store with a linked card! The range varies by store and day – they frequently have bonus weekends or day. For example, as I write this, they have 3X Cash Back at certain stores: You can also get cash back deals that are a set number. For example, you can earn $15 from Gobble right now: Here’s a snapshot from my most recent cash out which was in November. I received the cash via PayPal, but you can request a mailed check if you prefer. Either way, Rakuten refers to them as “Big Fat Checks”. Cash outs happen every 3 months. Ready to score some cash back deals on your online and in-store purchases? Spend $30 by March 31st through my link and we both get $30! 3. Fetch Rewards – (referral link – get 2,000 points for scanning ANY receipt) Fetch is a fun and easy to use mobile app where you can earn 25 base points on ANY receipt from ANY store. On top of that, you get additional points for 400+ name brands from the grocery store, including Colgate, Kotex, and Lays. You can also join the Unilever, Huggies, and Pepsi Rewards programs through the app for bonus points. You can even get points for eReceipts from Amazon, Papa Johns, and more! I upload every receipt and ask my family for theirs. Depending on your habits, you could get a gift card every week or multiple times a month. Here are the reward increments:
One of my recent receipts from Publix where I earned over 1000 points: There are dozens of gift card and charity options to cash out. Here are a few: Interested in joining Fetch for quick and easy gift card rewards on products you already buy? Consider using my referral link – you’ll get 2,000 points for snapping ANY receipt after signing up and so will I. It could be a gas station, dinner, or grocery receipt. if you don't want to click the link, you can still use my referral code PN7PY for the bonus. 4. Receipt Hog (referral link – 5 free spins on the Hog Slots when you join) Like Fetch, Receipt Hog is a mobile app where you upload receipts from anywhere to receive coins and tickets for spin on the “Hog Slot” where you can earn spin to earn extra coins. The more receipts you upload, the more entries into the monthly sweepstakes for coins. You can cash out once you reach $5 with an Amazon gift card, PayPal cash, or a Visa Prepaid Card. Here’s the increments you can cash out:
Cash out for Receipt Hog can be slower than Fetch, but you can use the same receipts, so you’ll earn more if you use both apps. You can link your Amazon to receive extra coins each month and they take paper and digital receipts. Sometimes, they have surveys as well. Sign up with my link or code nen25218 for 5 free spins on the Hog Slot. 5. Ibotta (referral link – we both get $10 when you submit your first receipt) Ibotta has been around for a while, but they’ve made a lot of changes over the years. You can now shop through the app and earn cash back on purchases there, in addition to linking your store card or uploading receipts for offers. They even have a browser extension. There's dozens of stores available. I use Ibotta by navigating to the Winn Dixie and Publix offers and adding the products I want to my Ibotta list. Then, I upload my receipt and earn the money back. It’s that easy!
Here’s a few offers from Publix this week: How do you cash out?
Ready to start earning on things you buy already? Get $10 when you upload your first receipt by using my referral link. Heads up: When you click the link it says you will get $5 but it should say $10 - they seem to have updated it in the app but not on the website. 6. Kellogg’s Rewards (not a referral link) Kellogg’s Rewards is a free program where you can earn tokens to redeem for monthly rewards, like a $5 Amazon gift card, a magazine subscription, and more. Once you get 5 tokens, you can redeem for a reward. They also have sweepstakes entries for things like “Cheez-its for a year!” How to earn tokens and sweepstakes entries:
